 Jesus' Quick Reviews of Anything

Well...decided to pitch out a handful of quick reviews of movies/dvds I've taken a gander at lately.

DISTRICT 9

Perhaps one of the best new sci fi movies I've seen in a long time. This makes me want the Neill Blomkamp Halo movie even more. Sharlto Copley was fantastic.

Loved everything about this flick. Go and see it.

It's like watching a "what if in the Matrix, EVERYBODY loses and we have a bunch of Hacky Sack look things run around." Couldn't really get into it.

At least it looks pretty.

Dexter: Season 3 DVD

I had tried watching this series back when it first aired but just couldn't get into it. And after adding a few cartoons for my son to my Netflix instant queue, I kept noticing that in the "You Should Also Check Out: section" Dexter kept pulling up. Over and Over.

"Do you like Scooby Doo?" Netflix asked. "Then try out Dexter!"

"Just got done watching Mr. Mom? Try Dexter!"

I took it as a challenge and went for it.

Needless to say I killed the first 2 seasons quickly. I got hooked. I noticed season 3 coming out on DVD and picked it up right away.

Not as good as the first 2. Definately a dissapointment and it almost seems that the whole "killer killing other killers" is starting to fade.

Season 4 looks promising with John Lithgow joing the cast as the "Trinity Killer".

It seems that horror is dead and gross and gory are winning.

F**k this movie and the Saw/Hostel flicks that have forced everything in horror to just become gross and even more stupid.
