Looking at picking up a current Batman comic series. Not sure which one i want. Does anybody have any thoughts on the current ones...
1. Batman
2. Detective Comics Batman
3. Batman: The Dark Knight
4. Batman and Robin

There's a fun storyline going on right now in the Batman books called "Death of the Family", about the return of The Joker. In the first issue of DETECTIVE COMICS from the NEW 52 line, Joker got his face cut off by The Dollmaker. In this current storyline, Joker is back, with his face literally strapped to his head. Talk about creepy! I like BATMAN because of Scott Snyder's writing and Greg Capullo's art. Until this current storyline plays out, might be hard to jump on with just one title at this point.

I love the Batman comics. I chose to stick with just that title because frankly it is just too expensive to by all of them... I have the first several issues of Detective as well. It is good too. Anyway, i stuck with Batman... The writing and art have been some of the best i have seen in a long time.

You can probably score a complete set of these first 16 issues on ebay... Just be careful because some people have already jacked up the prices. Reminds me of the way they oversold certain titles in the 90s and years later you find out yoir stuff isnt worth as much because everybody got one!!

Batman would be my choice. Capullo's art is great and Snyder's writing is top notch. The Court of Owls storyline that spans the first few issues is definitely worth picking up.

Thanks for the input guys. Until this current storyline plays out, might be hard to jump on with just one title at this point. Great thing about the Sci Fi Expo in two weeks. Which over one I decide to go with, I'm going to get all the back issues there so I can start from the beginning. |

I still want to read "The Killing Joke" and "The Long Halloween", since they were the inspiration for the Nolan series. I also want to read "Superman: Secret Origin".
