SATURDAY, February 3rd at 8:00pm Central Time (9pm Eastern), you're invited to listen and participate in the eighth exciting BIGFANBOY LIVECAST.
Hosted by Mark Walters, along with co-host Charles Briede, the show covers movies, television, comic books, and video games. And you never know who's going to call in...
On this episode, we're using a special night and new time, so as not to interfere with the return of the PvP LIVECAST on Thursday. But we will return to our regular time and weekday slot next week. Join us on Saturday as we discuss upcoming movies and video games, plus comic book gossip as well. Mark will have an advance look at the Disney/Walden film BRIDGE TO TERABITHIA, and even some clips of interviews with the film's stars. We're also expecting some surprise call-in guests, so be sure to tune in. [/size] Here's how it works: Start by going to www.talkshoe.comSign up and create an account, it's free and easy to do. Download the Talkshoe client, which allows you to request to talk and participate in the chat room. Please note: you do not have to download the Talkshoe client to listen to the show, but if you wish to call in or chat it is necessary. Use this link to go to the BIGFANBOY LIVECAST page - www.talkshoe.com/talkshoe/web/talkCast.jsp?masterId=10514You can either just listen, or listen and participate. Our show ID number is 10514To call in on your phone, dial 724-444-7444, enter the show ID number followed by the # sign, then your pin number (usually best to use your phone number) followed by the # sign. Once you're dialed in, a voice will say "Welcome to Talkshoe" and you will be on and muted. You can request to talk on the chat page. It may seem like a lot to do, but once you've got everything set up, you'll find the procedure pretty easy. If you miss the live episode, you'll be able to download the finished episode approximately one hour after it's completed. If you have questions, either post them here, or e-mail support@talkshoe.com

Any more tequila shots?
That should be a regular thing with the podcast. One of the guests keeps taking shots all night.
That's fun for the whole family.

You need to get Kurtz to do it.
Or just keep making Mark Brooks do it.
It could be the show's thing.
"We'll get into the next movie review but first it's that time of the show for Mark Brooks to..."
(cue audience as well)
"TAKE ANOTHER SHOT!"
Cue the clapping soundtrack.
Good fun for the family.

Didn't get to talk about this on the podcast tonight but just a quick comment on the "saving comics" part.
All the other comics fans wanting to save comics keep saying "Well comic shops need to..", "There need to be more kids comics in the comic shops..." etc etc
Comics should be at other places BESIDES comic shops.
How often do you see comics at gas stations anymore? I used to always find Superman, Spiderman, Batman at EVERY gas station I went to. Now, nothing.
Sure, Target, Wal Mart started carrying the trades in the childrens book section but how many kids have an allowance of 20 bucks? Kids can scrape or beg for 3 bucks from their parents. Not 20. We need more comics in more accessible areas.
Comic creators and even comic fans could also put together some small conventions for their local towns. Not everybody can afford to go to the "big city conventions" if you will.
Comics could be handed out at the theaters during the opening of comic movies. Or even if they had a rack in the snack area with some comics and directions to their nearest comic shop.
Comics in doctors and dentist offices with directions to the shops also. I know when I was 12 I hated the selection of Money magazine, Cosmo, and Green Eggs and Ham. I'd rather read Spiderman beating up the Rhino or something.
Just my quick hit.

teh Best livecast ever. I laughed I disagree off to all the tequila shotstuff ;D Jpj, you should move to Europe, man. There are comic books everywhere here in Finland... gas stations, kiosks, book stores ... but only thing is that it's kinda limited to Donald Duck, Spider-Man, X-Men and all the mainstream stuff. In book stores there are good ol' albums (even hardbacks). If you want the stuff that's released in (for example) States you must find old books store or freakin' expensive comic book store in other city... But when I visited Paris... oh, man! There is comic book stores and super markets which have HUGE collections... especially in super/hyper markets they have about everything from huge manga collections to regular weekly/monthly comic books ... you must visit Paris some day to see what's happening there m8

Comics everywhere?
I lived in Vicenza, Italy for about 2 years and there were comics NOWHERE. And the few I did find, in ENGLISH, were the old Rob Liefeld X-Factor/Extreme Studio days.
Plus the shops were charging around 5 to 10 EURO for each one of those issues that I can get here in America for a quarter a pound.
