A-Kon hits its 18th show this year, and remains one of the largest and most popular Anime conventions in the country. While the event focuses on Japanese animation, the show itself encompasses pretty much anything and everything related to pop culture. Fans come from all over the world to check out A-Kon, many in costume as their favorite character. The attendance grows every year, and is currently well into the thousands. With the exception of the Dallas Comic Con and Sci-Fi Expo events, A-Kon is easily one of the most impressive events collectors are likely to see in the DFW area. The show goes on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday this weekend at the spacious Adam's Mark Hotel in downtown Dallas.
