Yeah, this is disappointing. But I think in the end it's Joss' way of saying "If I can't do it my way, get someone else."
This kind of relates to the whole Joel Schumacher thing we talked about, in that the studio is afraid to turn over total control to Whedon, since guys like Schumacher ruined the Batman franchise. But Whedon (probably much like Schumacher) was insisting on doing things in a very specific way. There might have been a time where he could've got away with that, but not any more.
Best,

True.
I dunno. You'd think that since Firefly, Serenity, Buffy etc etc got such good reviews that the studio might just lighten up.
Batman and Robin was so long ago and comic movies have been (for the most part) done rather well and made quite a profit either on the big screen or dvd or both.
But can Wonder Woman really be that relevant or really capture today's audience? Female heroes haven't really been that popular. Catwoman, Elektra, Tomb Raider.
Sure they were all bad but still had some sort of A-list star power behind it and tanked. Hell. The crappiest MALE superhero/comic movie has outdone the best FEMALE superhero/comic movie.
