I haven't read the books for this, but the trailer looks cool, and I'm becomin' a fan of Daniel Craig after Layer Cake & Casino Royale.
So, this mornin', when I saw that Wal-Mart has a big sale on New Line DVDs that include a promo DVD and movie bucks for The Golden Compass, I decided to pick up a few movies to rebuild my library. At nine dollars each, I bought Pan's Labyrinth - Two Disc Platinum Series, The Notebook - Platinum Series, and The Lord of The Rings - Two Disc Limited Editions. Each one of 'em includes the DVD & a movie coupon. Other DVDs available from New Line with The Golden Compass promotion are The Wedding Crashers and Snakes on a Plane. I'd have bought Snakes on a Plane, too, if it had been in widescreen, but they only had fullscreen copies.
But, thanks to the promo, me & four friends can see The Golden Compass for free in a few weeks.
