Watching American Idol 4 last night reminded me why ours is the greatest country in the world: because there are so many crazy people that will do anything to be on TV! What a freakshow! Did you see the schizophrenic man from D.C. who sang, "Pappa Was a Rolling Stone," in five different voices? Or the 17 and 18 year old tarts that wouldn't get off the stage after they finished caterwauling? The last contestant, Mary Roach, a kooky blonde that wants to become a cosmetologist, was indescribable. Simon Cowell said she was the worst he'd ever heard (now remember, last season they all sat through William Hung's rendition of "She Bangs.") If this is any indication of the level of delusion some of these people have, I'm really jazzed about the upcoming season. It should be great.

Is it just me or am I the only one that will miss that fat kid who looks like a funeral home director from Nevada?
