I know that quite a few people were very upset when Studio 60 was replaced by the Black Donnelly’s. I was one of those people that said that Studio 60 is a smart and funny show, and I was disappointed when it was taken of the air. So I figured I would give this Black Donnelly’s show a chance. I have to say I was blown away I think this is one of the best shows to come along is years. The first thing I thought was this show should be on HBO. Which we all know that HBO has the best shows on network television or cable right now. The writing is phenomenal and the look of the show blew me away. I feel that it is Good Fellas, Mean Streets, and the Departed all rolled up into one great show. My only worry is that network television is not the right place for this show it should be on cable. For now NBC seems to be doing everything right they have a power house Monday night lineup with Heroes and the Black Donnelly's.

Because HEROES is required viewing for me, I've watched the first two episodes of THE BLACK DONNELLYS, and I totally agree. This is a great show. I was already a fan of Paul Haggis, and this show is maintaining that feeling. I noticed he directed the first two episodes. I'm curious if he'll continue to direct the series, as most big name directors who initiate shows only helm the pilots. Either way, it's very well written, and very engrossing. I look forward to seeing where it heads from here.
All the best,

And it's gone. NBC just cancelled THE BLACK DONNELLYS. Bastards. It was supposed to run 13 episodes for the first season, and they're stopping it after 8. They can't even give them the full 13. Why start a show if you're not going to give it a chance. This really angers me. I liked that show... a lot.
Oh well,
