I wanna hear what you think of my latest comic book purchases. Here's the list:
Frank Miller's Ronin - Book one Lydia Lunch: Bloodsucker (illustrated by Bob Fingerman.eros comix) Interface (issue 6) Codename: Stryke Force (vol1. 4 June 2004) Lunat!k vs Avengers (2nd issue. January 1996) Justice League International (#53. August 1993)
I just love the art in Interface (have you ever heard of that comic? I haven't) and Stryke Force is new to me but I kinda like it. Very much like the art in Spawn (maybe same artists? Dunno) comic books.
I know those are kinda old news for you guys but I do still live in Finland and we don't so much the latest stuff here. and also I don't have that much money. Those were an € (euro, our currency) a piece so they were pretty damn cheap man.
But let me know what you think and have you read these ever? I think I'm going to collect Stryke Force for more and more - and if somebody could enlighten me about the series I'd appreciate it very much. Is it still an on going series or something like that.
Mark? Jesus? Anyone?

That's kind of funny... as I'm reading this I'm actually holding a copy of JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #53 from the original series. Frank Miller's RONIN is greatness. Ah INTERFACE. Good stuff. A lot of those late 80's Epic titles had great art in them. Look for the SHADOWLINE titles and MOONSHADOW too. They're cool. I used to read CODENAME: STRYKE FORCE. Liked Brandon Peterson's art in it. You know that's technically the first Michael Turner sequential art... issue #14 I believe... severed hand on the cover (which Mike also did by the way). Some forgotton eighties titles that deserve a look are of course THE ROCKETEER by the incredible Dave Stevens, AMERICAN FLAGG by Howard Chaykin, STARSLAYER by Mike Grell, and early issues of DARK HORSE PRESENTS. Also look for DREADSTAR by Jim Starlin. Jarmo, you have read WATCHMEN, right? Please say yes. ELEKTRA ASSASSIN is a must as well. Best,

I've only read one of those comics on your list, Jarmo.
Ronin.
And that was, like, many many moons ago.
As far as graphic novels go, I dunno.
My wife just dumped off the first 5 TPB's of The Punisher MAX series and I gotta say, it's easily the best title Marvel is putting out and truly underappreciated (be on the lookout for my BEST COMIC SERIES YOU'RE NOT BUYING videos I'll be putting out soon)
Other than that, I've been catching up on other classics I passed on by when they were in their prime.
Preacher Sandman We3 Agents of Atlas Lone Wolf and Cub
My comic spending allowance (when you're married, you get an allowance. Yeah.....) just got bumped up to about 60 bucks a week.
And I'm always on the lookout for something good to read. So hit me up with some titles, folks!

We3 is good stuff.
Just recently started reading PREACHER myself. I had read it a bit before, but not intently. Really cool... highly disturbing at times too!
Best,

Preacher rocks big time, yeah! I love it. And yes, I have read Watchmen. I read it ages ago when it came translated here and borrowed it from a local library before anyone else I was wondering how many "books" or episode Miller's done that Ronin series. I don't fancy the art that much but the story is cool. I think they have it translated or collected all the episodes in one book etc. Could you tell me more about the Interface because it is damn good looking peace of a comic / graphic novel... the art looks like it's drawn by the same guy which drew the Max Payne (you can ask about Max Payne video game(s) more about Charles ) mid-scene art. Similar style indeed. Damn, I think I must get that Watchmen to myself (in my o-w-n collections, I mean) soon

That shadowline-cover looks awesome. I'll go to my local store and ask for it there. So, it isn't new in the states. I can only get the old stuff here in Tampere city (Finland!) with a resonable price (1-5 euros) and if you want the latest, you have to pay lots and LOTS of more. Usually you have to do it via internet order from Helsinki (capital of Finland) or go to visit there locally....

Jarmo,
Do you guys not have "bargain" boxes with super-cheap books? Over here you can find (usually at conventions) 25 cent or 50 cent books. Sometimes you can find really good stuff that way, and if you're just buying them to read not being concerned with condition, you can usually pick up some great titles. Might be something to look for. I hardly ever pay full price for my comics, but then again I'm always surrounded by deals being at so many conventions.
Look for ELEKTRA: ASSASSIN, which is in collected trade. It's awesome.
Best,

God bless the 25 cent bin/5 for a dollar bin.
It's how I managed to get complete runs of:
Sleepwalker Guardians of the Galaxy Wonderman Avengers West Coast
Ya know. The goodies of the 90's.
Next up! Darkhawk, Silver Sable, and Force Works!

Skip FORCE WORKS.
I like DARKHAWK, and SILVER SABLE was cool for the first several issues.
