Apparently Galactus is going to be.....a giant Storm Cloud?
Apparently Tim Rothman has stated that his studio will never have any giant robots or anything of that type in of his movies.
But a giant Storm Cloud? Word?
My thing is...are they going to try to tie the Fantastic Four's origin in with Galactus? Remember in the first flick? The storm cloud in space that gave them their powers? Could be "power cosmic"?
How in the hell do you feed a cloud?!
What was wrong with this design?
Ugh.
Moving on.
Sam Raimi? Directing the HOBBIT?

THAT would be good. But apparently Kirsten Dunst says that it would be "disrespectful to the crew and cast of Spiderman".
Jealous Kirsten?
Dark Knight pictures!
For all the nerds who need all the pics of the movie regardless of how pointless they are, here's some minor set pics of Batman:The Dark Knight.

Here's what really caught my eye in that article:
The character breakdowns provide some insight to plot points as the character Arachne ("female, 20-35 years old, any ethnicity") is described as "a beautiful, boastful young woman turned into a spider for her hubris and lack of respect for the gods. She subsequently appears to Peter Parker and the audience as in turn a powerful spider-woman who comes from another time to inspire Peter; an otherworldly lover; a bride; a terrifying (and sexy) dark goddess of vengeance; a dance partner in a charged and violent spiders dance of death; and, finally, a lonely, fragile young woman." Casting is seeking a "strong Celtic, Balkan style, e.g., Sinead O'Connor," noting, "outside the box ideas are welcomed. Could be someone from the music industry."
Holy hell. I..I can't even make this crap up.
Anyways. I won't be around this next few days. My wife and I will be gone celebrating our one year anniversary. It can only go downhill from here.
So because I'll be gone, ya'll will miss my witty banter in the Bigfanboy chat on this week's podcast but it's ok. Mark does an ALRIGHT job of hosting a radio show. ;D
Also I won't be able to review any new comics this week on my usual Thursday/Friday time.
So instead, here's my "START BUYING THIS SERIES NOW" pick of the week!
DMZ is written by Brian Wood and drawn by Riccardo Burchielli
It's a series set in very near future that brings together the events in Iraq/Afghanistan but on US soil in the SECOND Civil War.
The main location? The DMZ of New York where the Free States of America and the USA battle it out for control.
Our main character is Matty Roth, a photojournalist in the middle of the DMZ reporting the war and culture that has sprung up in New York.
Creator Brian Wood describes it best when saying "think equal parts Escape From New York, Fallujah and New Orleans right after Katrina."
This series is an amazing read and has only been around for the last couple of years. So back issues should be quick to find. Don't feel like tracking them down? Cool enough. The first two TPB's are out with the third one coming out in August.
So if you like stories set in the style of Escape from New York and Mad Max, this series is for you.
For more info on DMZ check out Brian Wood's website at www.brianwood.com/
Riccardo Burchielli also recently gave an interview on Newsarama about the look of DMZ.
