Spoilers are ON. Read at your own risk.
Have any other titles you'd like me to check out? Shoot me a PM or e-mail me.
Ultimates #13
Ultimates Volume 2 #13 FINALLY ships.
And really...who cares?
Bryan Hitch's art is pretty to look at but Mark Millar has continued to write as typical Mark Millar. Ya know. The whole"I hate the US government, all my characters want to do is be witty jerks that talk only about seducing other people, killing, drinking, etc etc"
This issue is about 20 pages of splash action and no substance. Although the Steve Rogers/Gail backflash ending was rather touching.
If you have to pick up the story, pick up the TPB.
Let's hope Jeph Loeb and Joe Mad bring their A game and since Joe has been working on the title the last year and half we can probably see the first issue being only, oh, 2 or 3 months late.
Ok, maybe 4.
Mighty Avengers #3
For those of you who know me, know I have something called a 3 issue/3 episode rule. If I haven't been hooked by old numero 3, you're history.
Guess what Mighty Avengers?
Not even Frank Cho's awesome art is going to save you.
This book gets the chopping block and tossed into the "Who really gives a crap?" pile.
Good side of this series is a funny Hank Pym/Tigra booty call session.
Moon Knight #10
Wow. I really don't know what to say about this series anymore.
It went from mildy entertaining with beautiful art, to what the hell is going on and beautiful art.
And why the hell is Moon Knight still set about 3 months behind everybody else in the Marvel Universe? It's about time to play catch up.
JLA #9
After a really fun and interesting start to the JLA/JSA story arc, this issue falls on the flat side. Ed Benes art is still great to look at but there's not much else to this issue.
It was a sad little week for comics in my opinion.
I honestly think it's a great time to catch up on some movies or pick up a TPB.
My TPB pick is:
Annihilation book 1
I didn't pick up the series when it was going on. I'll admit I was suckered into the whole Civil War piece of crap. Now that I've picked up the first hardcover I can honestly say I made the wrong choice. This so far is definately THE event of the Marvel Universe this last year. I'm geared up for Book 2!
Online Comic Pick!
Bigfanboy Livecast chat regular "Herobot" bursts out onto the online comics scene with a really slick website design.
His online comic?
Herobot.
Written and Drawn by the "Herobot" himself, Eric Allard, the comic blends a nice animated/Samurai Jack feel to it.
It's still in the beginning stages and hasn't really taken off with much content but look for this series to explode down the line.
