George Carlin died at Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica about 6 p.m. PDT of heart failure. Carlin was admitted after complaining about chest pains. He was 71 years old.
George Carlin will truly be missed. I cannot believe that we have lost another titan of the entertainment industry. My memories of George Carlin go back to even when I was 12 when I met him in Chicago just walking down the street. Most times I clam up when talking to anybody of any celebrity stature from Jaime Mendoza to Sly Stallone. This time was different, though. I ran right up to him and asked for his autograph. Afterwards he looked at me and said "Kid. Want a piece of advice? Don't take anybody's bullsh*t straight to heart, even mine."
