According to an interview with David Finch on Comics Syndicate, could Ultimatum be the end for the Ultimate universe?

Now it's been a huge internet debate for a while now but what would be the PRO's and CON's of the Ultimate line simply being cancelled?
PRO:
Half of the regular MU has great talent in charge of it. The other half.....not se great. I love Mark Bagley but his run on the Mighty Avengers looked rushed as he couldn't wait to catch some DC cash. New Avengers had a string of fill-in "meh" artists. Now wouldn't it have been a lot cooler to see Joe Mad drawing Mighty Avengers and Mark Brooks on New Avengers?
CON:
Any of the newer, younger readers that the Ultimate line had brought in may not be interested in an old a$$ Peter Parker, Captain America dead, and an X-Men history so convulated that Mark Waid's concept of Hypertime would make sense.
PRO:
Do you enjoy the Runaways, Ghost Rider, Moon Knight, and any other second string title out there but are afraid they may get cancelled due to low sales? Now's the time to convert all those Ultimate dollars to regular MU dollars. Imagine if all those people who bought only a select big name MU titles and the Ultimate line were buying NEXTwave or The Irredeemable Ant Man?
CON:
A lot of big name creators say no to MU titles because the continuity goes back 70 years. Mark Millar and Bryan Hitch said no to the Avengers and instead created a great piece of comic called The Ultimates. Would Joe Mad have signed up for just 6 issues of some random Marvel and not be the one to relaunch comic's biggest title? Could cancelling the line alienate some of the industry's hottest creators?
If it destroys the Ultimate Universe or not, one could hope that we at least get a good story out of it.
