BIGFANBOY EXCLUSIVE!
Sometimes, being in the business of entertainment, and especially because I promote events where celebrities are special guests, there are occasions where I find out some really juicy news about an upcoming film or TV project. But out of respect for the star, I usually have to keep my mouth shut. Back in April we had Tony Todd as a special guest at the Sci-Fi Expo in Dallas, and we talked quite a bit "off the record" about a variety of subjects. Tony had mentioned in his Q&A that he had reteamed with Michael Bay (they worked together on THE ROCK) for the upcoming TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN. However he wasn't able to say exactly what he was doing. Through some somewhat simple deduction, I was able to figure out his secret, but out of respect for Tony, I've been keeping my mouth shut since then. Well now that the new TRANSFORMERS movie has premiered in Japan, credits and all, I can officially announce the news. Tony Todd is the voice of none other than The Fallen! This comes after recent false reports that Leonard Nimoy would be doing that voice, but rest assured it's Tony. Fans know him well as the title character in the CANDYMAN films, and he's recently been seen as a recurring villain on the hit Fox series 24. Star Trek enthusiasts may remember Todd as multiple characters (including Worf's brother) on both STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION and STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE. His distinct voice is pretty perfect for the intimidating nemesis in this new TRANSFORMERS flick. Can't wait to see how it fits! You can meet Mr. Todd yourself if you attend the Tulsa Trek Expo at the end of the month - go to trekexpo.net for more info on that. We'll be out there as well.
